The Pioneers statue celebrates the canal builders who founded Ellesmere Port and was cast in bronze by Liverpool artist Stephen Broadbent.
The borough council's electoral services section is responsible for the compilation of the register of electors and the organisation and proper conduct of all elections within Ellesmere Port and Neston.
These include election of parish councillors (in Ince only), local government ward councillors, members of parliament, members of the european parliament, as well as all referendums and mayoral elections.
