Emergency Planning - What We Do

Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council has a designated person responsible for Emergency Planning. The person is responsible for:

Ensuring that the Council's emergency response services are properly developed and maintained
Reviewing and maintaining the Council's Major Emergency Plans
Helping to develop Departmental plans
Arranging emergency response training and exercise sessions for staff to test the written emergency plans
Arranging regular Emergency Awareness Seminars
Provide support to the Council's out of hours Emergency Duty Officer Service
Monitor a system which guarantees a senior Council Officer is available to respond to emergencies at all times.
Ensuring that the District Off Site Emergency Centre (DOSEC) is capable of operation at all times.
Representing the Council's interests on Local Area and Regional Emergency Planning and Exercise Groups
Liaison with emergency services, utilities and volunteer organisations.
