The Pioneers statue celebrates the canal builders who founded Ellesmere Port and was cast in bronze by Liverpool artist Stephen Broadbent.
Cheshire County Council, the local education authority, is responsible for providing primary and secondary education in Ellesmere Port & Neston. Other forms of education, such as adult learning and vocational training, are run by other bodies.
