Burial Area Maintenance Information: - The grass cutting maintenance programme commences in March and normally finishes in October each year. During this time the traditional burial areas are cut on a fortnightly cycle (weather permitting). These areas are maintained by using grass strimming equipment, and where possible a pedestrian mower will also be used. Graves that have been opened for a full burial will continue to settle for approximately six months from the date of opening. During this time cemetery personnel will level the grave as and when necessary until it is fully settled. It is common procedure to turf traditional graves, however if you do not wish for your grave to be turfed please let us know at the earliest opportunity. You are advised that graves can settle unexpectedly, if this happens immediate arrangements will be made to level the grave as soon as possible.
