
Vauxhall's factory at Ellesmere Port is to be one of four plants in Europe that will build the new Astra.

On the 1st of July 2007 virtually all enclosed public places and workplaces in England became smokefree. This has provided a healthier environment so everyone can socialise, relax, travel, shop and work free from secondhand smoke.
The council appointed two smoke free compliance officers, based within the Environmental Protection Unit, who visited all of the local businesses in the district that were affected by the changes to assess if they met the regulations and then provided advice / guidance where appropriate.
