Mosquitoes: How to deal with them

Borough council workers spraying to counter mosquitoes in ParkgateIn parts of the borough, especially those bordering the Dee Estuary, mosquitoes can be a problem during the warmer months.

  1. Placed 3 mosquito monitoring traps within public gardens along the length of the marsh.
  2. Placed 2 traps on the marsh itself to monitor biting insects in that area.
  3. Worked closely with Neston High School and Leahurst to collect and identify addtional samples
  4. Worked in conjunction with Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in identifying the contents of these traps.
