Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council owns 22 allotment sites throughout the borough, which are available for an annual rental charge.
Most sites are permanent and have a water supply. For those that don't, water butts can be purchased from garden centres to assist with irrigation of crops.
The following sites have a water supply:
Sites without water supply:
Full plot (permanent) with water £28.80
Full plot (permanent) without water £22.10
Full plot (temporary) £14.20
Half plot (permanent) with water £14.40
Half plot (permanent) without water £11.10
Half plot (temporary) £7.10
For most sites we have a colony steward who shows potential plot holders the vacant plots and is the point of contact between plot holders and the borough council.
The council does not cultivate un-tendered plots but can offer a reduced rate for new holders if the plot they choose is uncultivated or overgrown.
Allotments can provide an ideal opportunity for healthy eating, an alternative form of physical activity and a very popular pastime. There are many experienced gardeners throughout the allotment community who are willing to offer assistance to newcomers.
If you are interested in renting an allotment please contact Rose Millington on 0151 356 6992
There's also a discussion forum for allotment-holders and those with an interest in gardens in Ellesmere Port.
