Local Care Forum
Local Care Forums encourage and help local people who use community care services, or who are carers to give their views about services, (particularly regarding gaps or deficiencies in services). This will help in the future planning of services.
Contact Louise Chetcuti, LCF Administrator on 01606 815707 for details of Ellesmere Port and Neston's Local Care Forum.
Health Scrutiny
Health Scrutiny is part of the Government's attempts to address the root causes of bad health and to increase the level of public involvement in the running of the NHS.
Health Scrutiny is a responsibility given to Local Authorities by the Health and Social Care Act 2001. It expands upon powers given under the Local Government Act looking not only at local authorities themselves, but also at all health service providers and any other factors that affect people's health.
Health Scrutiny Committees are made up of a mixture of Councillors and representatives of patients and voluntary organisations. They can choose what issues to examine, carry out the scrutiny and make recommendations.
