Information on Sport Frenzies
The Community Unit Sports Frenzy project is a multi sport activity session held throughout the school holidays, and weekends throughout the year.  They take place at a number of borough venues, which include, Whitby Park, Wolverham play area, Luton Rd play area, Westminster playing fields, Stanlaw Abbey Children's Centre and Stanney Field Park in Neston as well as Stanney Oaks Leisure Centre.

The aim of the project is:

  • To provide young people with a worthwhile activity over the school holidays and Saturday afternoons
  • To offer structured and safe coaching activity delivered by qualified and registered leaders and workers in an environment that young people are familiar with.
  • To foster links between young individuals and local sports organisations in the hope they would continue to participate in their chosen sport in a voluntary club environment.
The Sports Frenzy project provides young people aged 7 - 16 years with the confidence to follow up their chosen sport in a club environment.  It provides them with the opportunity to access structured sport and coaching which will also allow them to enhance their personal development and life skills.

A number of sessions take place throughout the year for further information on the schedule please contact Michelle Aspden,Youth Sport Development Officer on 0151 356 6456.
