The Pioneers statue celebrates the canal builders who founded Ellesmere Port and was cast in bronze by Liverpool artist Stephen Broadbent.
Ellesmere Port and Neston Special Olympics is for adults and young people with learning disabilities, sessions include:-
Would you like to be part of a netball or football team? If the answer is 'yes' then come along and join in on a Saturday at the Oasis Youth Centre, Coronation Road, Ellesmere Port.

9.30 - 11am for ages 14+ years

11 am - 12 noon for ages 14+ years

Wednesdays (during term-time), 2.00pm -3.00pm, EPIC Leisure Centre, McGarva Way, Ellesmere Port.
Qualified coaches will run each session supported by volunteers. The coaches and volunteers cannot devote time for one-to-one support. Please bring additional support if required. After you have taken part in your chosen sports sessions, you can stay and join in with further activities provided by IYSS (Integrated Youth Sport Service).
Ellesmere Port and Neston Special Olympics are also hosting an open netball tournament on Wednesday 28 May at Stanney Oaks Leisure Centre, Ellesmere Port, 10am - 3pm. Entry fee £15 per team.
