The Pioneers statue celebrates the canal builders who founded Ellesmere Port and was cast in bronze by Liverpool artist Stephen Broadbent.
Ellesmere Port Civic Hall is an approved venue for civil marriage and partnership ceremonies.
There are three rooms available for ceremonies:
You can hire us just for your ceremony if you wish - you don't have to have your reception with us as well.
We offer a package price for ceremonies in the Vauxhall Suite
or Civic Suite of just £100.00 (excluding Registrar's Fee).
Wedding Breakfasts and Receptions
Wedding Breakfasts and Receptions can be held in our Civic Suite & Lounge Bar, which provide comfortable accommodation for up to 120.
For larger functions you can hire our Main Hall as well, which seats up to 270 guests with room for a dance floor.
Self-Catering Venue
The Civic Hall does not provide an in-house catering service.
You can hire our fully equipped kitchen and facilities for very reasonable rates and organise the catering yourself or bring in a professional caterer to do it for you.
We will require a refundable deposit for hire of the kitchen and equipment.
All self-catering bookings must have third party liability insurance.
You can obtain this yourself or we can arrange this for you at an additional cost of just 10% of the normal booking fee. A full copy of the conditions of hire for self-catering bookings is available on request.
Licensed Bar
The Civic Hall has a comfortable, well-appointed bar, offering a full range of wines, beers and spirits, serving both the Main Mall and Civic Suite. 
Our room hire charges include use of the bar. You may wish to provide your own wine at your reception.
You can do this but, of course, corkage charges will apply.
The venue is licensed from 11.00 until 24.00, Monday to Saturday and until 23.30 on Sundays.
