The borough council has a responsibility to undertake reviews of its conservation areas from time to time and to produce appraisals of each of them.
The borough council has carried out studies of all of the conservation areas in the district to identifiy what it is about their character and appearance that makes them unique.
The Conservation Area Character Appraisals of Willaston, Parkgate, Neston, Burton, Ellesmere Port Docks, Ince and Ness aim to assess the special architectural and historic interest of the areas and identify which elements should be preserved or enhanced. In Willaston, Ness, Parkgate and Ince, changes to the boundaries of the conservation areas have also been made.
