Household waste sites

Household waste can be disposed of at sites in Ellesmere Port and in Neston, which are managed by Cheshire County Council.

They are:

Both household waste and recycling centres are open seven days a week throughout the year and only close on Christmas Day

Location of Garth Road Recycling Centre, Ellesmere Port March - April 08:00 - 18:00
May - August 08:00 - 20:00
September - October 08:00 - 18:00
November - February 08:00 - 16:00

Both sites also have special skips set aside for garden waste. All garden waste deposited in these skips is used to manufacture soil improver.

If you want to dispose of large amounts of waste

IMap showing recycling site on Clayhill Industrial Estate, Nestonf you visit the sites with any sort of van, pickup, commercial 4x4 or a trailer over 1.5 metres (internal length) you will need a permit. If you arrive without a permit in one of these vehicles you will be refused entry to the centre. You may also need a waste permit in order to use these sites.

New household waste pass scheme in Neston

Neston Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC), at Clayhill Industrial Estate, now has a pass system for all Ellesmere Port and Neston residents.

Neston HWRC is the only site in the borough that will accept asbestos from residents houses.

It is a requirement of the Waste Management Licence that :
